In any other game I'd be 100% certain it's observational bias. But with these two guys behind HnH you never know.... :)

I'm not sure. I don't recall finding one freshwater, but I've not been up and down rivers and lakes with boats like I used to be, either. Seaside beaches are the only place I recall finding them.

only at dusk or dawn

Known. Looking at grassland (freshly logging in at dusk and dawn): plenty fresh spawns of dandelions and the other usual things, no grasshoppers.

Are you sure it's on sand beaches? I don't think I've ever found a bladderwrack there, only the new beach-like gray biome near oceans. I certainly have never found one in freshwater at least, I'm pretty sure they no longer spawn on freshwater beaches.

Also worth noting, only in certain regions. Western Continent seems almost entirely devoid of them (at least on the south side); I've only found them in the southernmost part (not just when you reach the ocean on the east side, but there's a bit of land even further southwards if you go further west).

I'm pretty sure i have only gotten them off sandy beaches, not the skarsgard, but may have found a couple on the rocky shorelines, too.

We're in sort of the same region. I think they're on that "rare curio" list of a global pool that spawns. I've not found a lot this world, maybe a half dozen or so, but certainly more than flotsam (only a couple).

I have no words to describe my hatered for the exp events in this game.

I read around and see that I have to build an exp farm ... AN EXP FARM ... like 4 minimaps of farms and industry plots are not enough ... now I have to grind a particular XP event that randomly triggers every full moon. Goddamnit
