Being in a big village now would just mean you get spoiled and don't know how to manage your character efficiently on a fresh wipe.

I would agree and think Bootstrapping up from nothing would be a better journey in learning, compared to joining a big village. I was under an impression the future of the game was looking into mechanics to enable world permanence vs. wiping, but it sounds like the approach should be to learn the mechanics on W11, and then wait for W12 to drop to make a more serious run at it. If that's the case that's cool, I tend to enjoy the early & mid-game more so then end game, so if world wipes are the answer to recycling the experience, c'est la vie

World wipes are the norm and generally they happen every 12-24 months. There are some protective features like pavement decay and slow cave decay to help the world reset naturally over time, but there are no solid mechanics in place to deal with things like infinite stat and quality growth over time.
