You don't need to wait to be able to get tar from a tar kiln (and in fact you must grab some halfway to get the entire output of some loads). You can get tar faster by building more tar kilns. Going by wiki numbers, a single load of pine yields 2.5 liters of tar in 10.4 hours; with two tar kilns that's 5.2 hours, with four tar kilns it's 2.6 hours. Day 1 rowboats are certainly possible, just day 1 coal isn't.

It is trivial to build enough tar kilns with a wooden shovel, pine logs and pottery skill to create tar for a couple rowboats on day one. There are also natural tar spawns you can luck into, and have a rowboat even faster.

What? Increasing hp would just make em take longer to cheese now I can’t cheese bears on day one I’m sure someone more competent can but usually 20 mins into the world I’m eating split roast boar maybe this is for the best

What I do to solve this is build 20 tar kilns

Not to big a deal look on wiki for what peoduces most tar if u need tar and just fuel 20 tar kilns 2x a week and I’ll runouta coal but not to often
