its 82 at the moment

then you're capping all your nodes, dummy

Specifically, your 'q111' node is actually q140 - assuming you're not hardcapping it with your masonry (not sure if that applies to the base value (i.e. the 140) or the final value (the 111)).

Pretty sure it's hardcapped first, then softcapped and after that credo / realm buffs are added

Doesn't matter what order, as when it gets hardcapped, it's at a fixed value. Having "the right quality" tool for it to actually matter is more of an edge case most of the time. (I figured it out last world, and forgot to post it on the wiki. Bad me. )

Oh, and just to say--this is the same system we've had since w4 (more or less), and it's always been spotty. Some areas are ore rich, others ore poor. Try in a different direction, or keep going the direction you're in. Either way you'll eventually hit the mother lode.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

It matters every time your mining tool's quality is lower than your masonry, which I wouldn't call an edge case.
q200 node + 140 masonry + q80 tool = q110
q200 node + 140 masonry + q80 tool = q140 if it got softcapped by the tool first, then hardcapped by masonry
