I recommend trying the "CPU-sequential" frame-sync mode in the video options. It does cause somewhat worse performance, but very significantly improves the input lag.

Haven uses javax.sound for all playback, so it supports any backend that it supports. I normally just use Alsa directly though, so I haven't looked into any alternatives.

I think i use GPU-sequential and see some improvement in delay so its somewhat solved.

I use alsa also but with dmix, is there any way to output debug log of the launcher into console or something? Or i need to build client with debug features turned on?

If you compile the client and change line 392 in JOGLPanel from "tex" to "awt", then cursor lag seems gone, but the icons are less visible. So I endup changing the arrow to system default, feels better when alt-tabing. Some things seems slower in Linux, but being free from Windows license crap and updates is worthy for me atm

GPU-sequential tends to take a tremendous hit to performance beyond that caused by CPU-sequential, and while it does technically cause slightly better latency, I don't tend to find it worth the performance hit, but I guess it depends on your hardware.

I guess it depends on what data it is that you want to have logged. Do you have anything particular in mind? If you want to debug Alsa, I think you'd have to look into whatever log output libalsa might offer, rather than look to the client itself.
