I am complaining that people are so self-absorbed that they think the idea they've mulled over for all of two minutes is going to rectify a systemic problem like botting. It's embarrassing.

For every minute someone spends wasting their time with their super cool and brand new™ anti-botting idea someone else needs to spend five minutes explaining to them why it won't work.

You need novel ideas to "fix botting". You don't need novel ideas to tell someone they haven't thought very hard about it.

Bots can be very easily prevented, I have suggested it a long time ago already.
Mandatory captchas, so many of them that it would be infeasible to pay for solving them, sending passports to sweden for account verification etc.

Bots can solve captchas and people can send their family member's passports for extra bot accounts. The real solution is to automatically ban all accounts. You need an account to bot so if you ban all of them then nobody can bot.

Unfortunately devs don't mind about people using bots for everything, I just don't buy that they can't ban bot abusers time to time in game with such small population.
Ban waves would discourage many of them to do that. What's the point of pumping main character using bots when there is a threat of it being deleted or banned.

Yes. I agree. We should use the limited dev time of two people to individually hunt down and ban bots. No! Instead, they should start using their dev time to create a robust bot detection system instead of developing the game!
