My first character in this world starved.

I had a doozy of a night last night. First, after spending 4 hours rowing/exploring to a new base spot with my main gatherer and my best equipment, I really have to pee so I click on an explored chunk of map and run to the rest room only to come back to the sound of my guy drowning and then the death screen pops up.

A little in shock and not sure what I want to do, I log onto the alt I left at the new base site, and decide to just explore for a moment and formulate a new plan. I go into a cave, see a dust pile and run through it (thinking the chances of a cave rat are low) only for a fucker to pop out and ko me. I then hit the hearth button and discover that surprise I forgot to set up a new hearth fire the night before because I was so focused on getting a claim up first before bed with my dream. So I transport 2 continents away, and at that point I should just quit, but noo.

So I travel back towards my new base site, build a dugout, holding my breath that it'll survive through a whirlpool. I go through, see 50% damage and then immediately click back through and find my guy swimming and think "shit" before he drowned too.

Luckily I was able to overcome that a bit with the ancestor, stole a dugout, made it through the whirlpool, and made it back to my new site.

Tonight I'm going to try to get to the new site with another alt and do it again.

Tldr; killed off two alts, and most of LP gain and equipment of the last week.

I was trying to clover some goats and the river my rowboat was on was almost all shallow water. Did you know goats are faster than a rowboat? I didn't. I ended up bumping into a second goat while rowing away from the first and they quickly knocked me out. Not content, I made the smart decision to try again with 1SHP. Double concussion, unfaced and 15 points of blade's kiss.
