I used to make silk back in the day and damn it has improved a lot with the use of barter poles.

The thing I like the most about the game is the study system, I think it's by far the best system to gain experience(lp in this game) from what I have seen in games so far. It allowed me to play the game how I want and still make decent progress even if I was just exploring the whole day and didn't do anything "productive" in my base or killing lots of animals. At least in the beginning stages it really helps to just chill and have fun.

Also just the fact that openworld pvp exists makes games a lot more exciting because actions have consequences and you have to look out for threats and opportunities etc. Sadly most games don't go this route anymore

Creating a character and developing it however you want instead of creating a class and a race and all this bullshit is a big +++ as well also including gaining stats by eating food and not by lvl ups. (don't like the super complex food making process but the idea in general I really like)

edit: and the game still gets developed actively after so many years, that's actually why I started playing again

Barter poles initially allowed you to even fill up herb tables somehow before it was "fixed" but you can still have "hands that take" in cupboards needing leaves and just dump leaves into Barter Stand connected to said hands.
