Serious times ahead. I read that if Putin were to continue invading countries Finland would be one of the only candidates along with Maldovia or something. Hopefully things settle down, most of us have lived through 3 once in a lifetime economic world dips, countless wars, once in a century pandemic... lets not also be the generation that sees a world war.

Why would anyone want to conquer Finland?

Not sure if serious and pardon my ignorance as I am a dumb American.

Finland shares a border with Russia and is currently one of the other nations that is not a NATO member. Part of the reason they aren't a member is because their only real threat comes from Russia and that Russia doesn't want them included. A somewhat believable reason why Russia wants Ukraine is because they don't want nato setting up military bases in a country bordering Russia. With this conflict maybe finland doesn't feel as secure and could push it closer to EU. Eu has already started doing things like inviting Sweden Sweden finland into their special security club meetings.

Again though just a silly American trying to piece together stuff coming from biased news sources.

Is it propaganda that the Russian people aren't exactly happy about this? Seems like there are loads of protests being reported but it's hard to tell if anything is real or just propaganda.
