Hoggers place looks really nice but it's mostly empty. Whatever is full of stagnant stalls, some of them are maintained and updated, but then there's shit that just sits there forever.

agreed, the devs really need to rethink the damage they have done to the ingame economy and focus on making blueberries great again

Trade being consistently dead is such an insanely obvious action:consequence proposition to anybody paying attention.

In world 10 trade was so prevalent it was the killer feature of the game. From world 11 onward trade fucking sucked dunkey dick. The only differences that killed trade were oceans, and and nerfing all forms of fast travel the lowest common denominator could interact with into the ground.

I'm so fucking curious about Jorbtar's perspective on this.
  • Do they think yeeting their killer features was worth the aesthetics of oceans and the (awful) concept of locality?
  • Do they not think easy trade is bad?
  • Did they buy into the retarded traveling merchant meme that has and will literally never happen?
  • Were they just paying so little attention they did not notice at all?

I switch constantly between being /so/ sympathetic towards Jorb/Loftar for having to put up with retards like us, and being ready to shittalk them for an hour straight on discord when somebody reminds me of some of their mistakes/opinions that are so dumb they feels like parody.

The actions required to revive or even improve upon Community Fair are so obvious, non-resource intensive, and blatantly good for the game it's unfathomable to me why they haven't done it. Like, bro, why are you sabotaging yourself?

Locality isn't *necessarily* an awful concept imo, but Haven already had that before oceans. Even back in legacy days I had a sense of locality. It's one of the things that kept me playing in the beginning.

There should just be one (small) "ocean" leading to nowhere tucked away in the corner of the map and just used to spawn orcas and shit. Or just remove the concept of oceans altogether.

involving 3rd side dEV tools into game features would be best support for 3rd side devs & best QoL for players
how about just make own copys of 3rd side tools on main server and make them legit, or mb ban all numbered named alt.chars scouting the map & ban all clients thats collecting data about map, cooked food, kin&char lists (too much power to not game devs)...
make market sites & price checker bots not needed by adding its functions into village idol (collect prices from barterstands and return spreadsheet of them by query from players)
make official tables as cookbook & alchemy & wiki, with ability to POST & GET
mb hire 1 progger for maintain 2nd unofficial client to keep ideas & features for players (or client with branch of GITs with selected "approved" mods (like hide trees, nightvision, disable weather, terrain elevation, gob resizer, map routes, quests filter, search for FEP/attr/name, show crop stage, autodrop, Q=RMB"GobName", autoselect dropmenu option & etc ))
you already made a "cattle rooster" & craft search & almost made hotkeys for all UI, i believe in you guys (needs some DEV time).
mb try some easy anti cheat engine to make a game same for all players, and not sandbox of sandboxes for java html python C# users

lemme throw in my 2 cents. snail brought up the problem of easy fast travel being a problem thats limiting current markets and their wellfare. that was an actual problem previous world but under peer pressure charter stones were brought back and now all you need to do is to jump to your nearest TW and port to market. how's that a problem.
markets going dead isnt travel issue, its more of a supply/demand ratio that gone off the roof. caused by extremely low population. 200 players cannot really support active trade, even tho 150 of them really wants to buy things, the other 50 (sellers) dont give much fucks about sustaining their shops. MH market is currently kinda locked down because noone can provide dang currency for ppl to use for trades (roll in it secretly in their basements)

trying to make haven pvp work is like trying to cure the gay, just accept it some games are different and move on

any decent browser game like Starblast makes you realize what makes pvp popular is not present in haven... design, client, requirements, latency, balance, progression, it's like haven is made to be coop

a classic pvp flaw is pay2win, which haven comes close in token trading... but this is not that bad if you realize the nature of the game and stop trying to "cure it"

this makes haven the perfect noob crushing machine, the only palisade protecting noobs will be the java client
