IRL extortion

Not sure how or who to really report this to but I had an unpleasant encounter with a pker who demanded that I buy them a toadstool hat or they would kill my character. Not sure on their username because they kept moving around and my character could not memorize them - know this is a open world pvp game but imo this behavior should be come with consequences. I just closed the game and suspect my character will be dead when i try to log back in.

PS - The game allows for a quiet a bit of amenity with how the mechanics work and with this stuff it kind of feels like it shouldn't.

This is the way the game is intended to be played. The devs enable and support it.

And yes, your character is definitely permadead.

I would hope there is a way to stop people that are killing for this reason.

Okay if you stop from killing others we get another remove pvp type of post, if you remove asking for hats people can ask for other shit instead. You have literally 0 obligation to give them anything.

You need a properly built "Palisade" for your base to be secure. There's little to no in-game guidance for this. Assuming the links in my signature are still up-to-date, you should check them out.

Once you have a secure base, you move binaries from "almost completely helpless" to "almost nobody will bother to siege you."

Just be careful when going outside, or having anyone in your base fall victim to a "social engineering" -attack.

So they asked for a irl hat or ingame store hat? I think you might be confusing the terms here for some personal reason or ill intention. And you're not paying real life money to the killers, but the devs, so the devs are the main benefitors from all the "extorting business". Could argue unintentionally. Confusing
