Since then, the survival genre (which didn't really exist when HnH was first released) has matured, and regular wipes are part of the package for any game that keeps a healthy population. The devs have been wanting client creators to "get with the times" and implement new render. I am entreating the devs to "get with the times," and at least run an experiment with a shorter announced life cycle to see what it does for HnH population longevity.
I remember playing a game called Ark a long time ago, which had servers without wipes and servers that wiped once a month. Given the current player base, splitting the servers into two might not be advisable, but eventually having both a no-wipe server and a server with frequent wipes could be interesting.
