I'd be surprised if they still bother with the bi-annual non steam world idea it would be so dead

They plan to run 2 short worlds of about 6 months. No parallel worlds are planned at current.

I'm also thinking about it since dev stream, 6 months would be too few for most players to try everything they wanted. Of course most experienced and well organized players achieve pretty much every credo they want, dig mine hole deep enough and stuff in little more than 2 month period, but new players/hermits who play too few simply won't be able to achieve all credos, so would require persistent world.

Also, I don't know if it's me getting old or something, but I'm starting to feel sick of leveling attributes, getting credos and building each world. It is the same amount of efforts I need to do, to keep the quality of gameplay meet my expectations (yeah, I don't want to be unable to kill bear and eat only squirrels, or run every time to get somewhere without crossroad system).

Persistent world with fast worlds could be a good alternative, although even for fast worlds I doubt that speed of quality progression is there.

Short worlds not worth efforts to build markets or any other community projects, they don't worth questing for well quality, daily replating of crops and trees for quality and all that. If the only world of haven lasts 6 months with current progression system, over few wipes my gameplay will seize to 20x20 hermitage with 1/10 of all game content I use.

Their original plan was to use the Steam and website client split to enable the use of parallel worlds, this is now gone. they have no current way to have 2 servers running with the client able to pick one and as the haven client directly connects this would need to be a clean client update that also informs players well. Ergo is not happening.

Having spoken to jorb and loftar to get any clarity. The best I got was -

"I'd also be surprised if we don't run at least two short worlds just to get some data, but again, no definitive plans."

They have no expectation for anyone to actually enjoy the short servers but they are offering it so that people can learn from it.

After the conversation i canceled the market i build most worlds, and logged out. I have zero interest in building the same shit every 6 months to watch more alt crap become more mandatory. no thank you.

Prior to the steam release I asked jorb if he felt like they were prepared for it. What do you think his answer was?

"As to whether we're ready... probably not, but... it is what it is now, right? :D"

He couldn't even keep his focus on that and stay out of moderation for the small amount of time they had to prepare, and was still actively involving himself in stupid pointless forum drama (such as taking the time to ban only me and a few others) instead of preparing for the release. Now that they have released, do you think they are putting any focus on the community when it matters most? Of course not.

As I understand it, this world 16 will be a long one. At some point in the future they will consider opening a shorter lasting world in parallel with this one.

The problem with haven I feel sometimes it feels like a race or a marathon. If you get injured while running you want to stop until the next run hence why the short world came to life. Problem is the game is designed to take a long time to achieve anything, it’s fundamentally designed to be played for a year. In other words, he’d have to tweak all variables to be sped up to make 6 months more enjoyable.
