I hope you are enjoying your time in the world again. I think you were my neighbour last time you played. Welcome back!

Today it is dominated by the PVP crowd who vociferously oppose any attempt to rein in the rampant murder and destruction. They lobby for shorter worlds, reset every six months, so there is a steady supply of sprucecaps to hunt and villages to destroy. Markets and public wells are a thing of the past since most will be destroyed within a month.

poster above me is delusional
game is more tedious/grindy, more needlessly complicated, with better QoL in most areas
PVP feels like it's less of a focus, and there's almost no risk whatsoever anymore if you're vaguely competent

I mean..... i do not know how you are intellectually dissonant enough to say "Today it is dominated by the PVP crowd" .... Like in World 7, a Boar permanently killed you, there was no K.O. protection people just killed you on the ground and the stat scalings was SOOOO much more in favor of pvp no lifers. People whom would run around with buckets of water to run down their hunger and spam pie. You are correct that the PVP crowd runs amock and sieges, but the fact that you are trying to portray that as if it is worse now, when in reality this is the safest time in this games history to be a hermit. If this guy hasn't played since World 7 he will be enamored by how safe it is.

Lets rewrite that for some other world. Just for the fun of it.

Today it is dominated by the relative small capitalist crowd who vociferously oppose any attempt to rein in the rampant self enrichment and kleptomania. They lobby for less rules, and less human/consumer/worker rights, so there is a steady supply of sprucecaps to use and abuse at there will. Common goods and social infrastructures will be a thing of the past since most will be destroyed within a few lifetimes.

It may be safer than it was but it is still a game where anyone can kill anyone else for no reason and with no repercussions. It is still a world where, upon seeing another player on the map, most people will hearth rather than risk attack ..."better safe than sorry". It is a world that promotes isolationism and paranoia rather than friendship and cooperation. It is a world where most markets will be raided and destroyed within a month of opening; where public wells will be destroyed, affecting dozens of players at once. And the ones who enjoy this are the ones most vociferously opposed to any attempts to change the situation. They care only for their own sadistic enjoyment.

I started w5, the idea of a big market, like emerald City was completely unthinkable to me then. And I literally played the exact way you are describing for those few worlds I played. I've never felt I could trust anyone in this game on meeting them. I always assumed i would die. That's kind of just haven for you  Not saying I like the rampant pvp, but it's kind of always been rampant  Like I do wish it was different, but that's just the player base unfortunately.
