Logged in a new char and I have seen 2 players and 2 bases. at least the bases have P-claims over em.

Nothing here to really get me wanting to do the fuckin grind all over again (and I got bored in W 16)

There used to be Drama(this was years ago) that "felt" like was a bit more respectable and enduring than what you see now.

Biggest thing imo is the fact you have Devs who don't feel in touch with how the community was and how it is now. Not to mention they cannot keep timelines nor communication for the most part.

The game is a bastardized shit show of its former self.

Logged in just to note new changes and piss off hermits for a bit. I skipped W16 and I'm going to skip this one as well. Lack of meaningful / fun changes and dev radio silence, I guess.

I didn't expect a world titled as an offshoot of the last world to reach new heights, especially with accelerated rate of time passage that basically multiplies all labor required. But the feeling of 'trivial/temporary world' and high turnover of curios + everything else kinda just makes me feel ugh. I think Jorb/Loftar got it backwards with this one-- 'here players, work harder in this new world, the first ever split concurrently from an existing world, with few changes or additions.' I woke up to find my completely full study table nearly empty and it made me wince.

If anything, I feel like this shoulda been a chill world after w16. Less LP, slower mine pyres, maybe. Draw out that early phase that tends to keep players engaged before the quality grind sets in and all the hermits/casuals leave. Or don't change rate of time passage at all-- yall had it where it was for a reason, right? After 16 worlds of fine-tuning? ...right? I am a bit puzzled by this decision.

idk, maybe I'm just still burnt out from how hard I went in w16.

If you are playing what's the reason? Playing in world 16 still? Waiting for feedback to start playing? Or just not going to play? Why?

I'm kind of assuming:
W16.1 instead of 17
no dev communication during W16
no attempts at "hype" trailers
only meaningful change talked about is very minor in terms of gameplay expansion
safe palisade change drama might have scared off some players who don't understand haven pvp

Anyone talking about mechanics discovered after world launch is smoking copium. World peak was -500 where it was last world easily before anyone knew about them.

Ironically the safe palisade changes made the game far safer for non-pvpers than ever before (if you're within 1 stamina bar's running distance of your base anyway).
Lucky: haven is so quirky
Lucky: can be so ugly, can be so heartwarming

Sure but the point im trying to make is that if you look at the records 1500-2000 has been a pretty stable number every reset for the past 3-4 years. Just an air your grievances thread.

I'm loving how all the most rude forum users are saying they're not even going to play this world because it has no meaningful changes.

No meaningful changes = changes that benefit non pvpers

It's like OSRS pvpers complaining that the wildy has no content all over again.
