You can screen though, and most things could be easily replaced. I mean this is not somewhere that spiraled anvils would be kept. In the larger sense though for a proper town the damage an infiltrator can do does seem disproportionate compared to the effort required.

You must do as government does. Everything is need to know basis. Compartmentalization. To be honest, if your villager even know they are in village at all you are already failed.

Humans are terrible at imitating a hive-mind so that is a lost cause.

I mean, it'd be sacrificing individuality.

Fanaticism. Order. Just bored and want to play god.

However, I think we are getting off-track here.

I am speaking of the English-speaking villages, simply because involving the nations into the equation is not only an inaccurate way of evaluating the situation, but nazi one as well. People divide based on the language they speak, not the nation. I have not seen an actual hate based on nationality in the game for a few worlds now. The situations you describe only represents that english-speaking spies cannot infiltrate to other villages

Say you are an international village the potential for infiltration is from basically every fucking one on the server.
What is the difference? Is it the nationality? Are you implying that people will be more loyal to their own nationality and hate yours? For me, the risk is the same whoever I would recruit: Chineese, Russian, Korean, Canadian, American, Polish or whatever.

The drama might favor the national conflicts though but the larger community rarely gets to find about them due to language.
I take it all of this is based on your assumptions about the national conflicts that happen, but you did not hear due to the language barrier? :)

Sodom died because we got older and we got jobs and there was no new blood to take over.
I was talking about Sodom that was interfering and influencing the world. For me, the "Sodom" has died once you guys gave up on doing something larger than a hidden city.

I wonder what Machiavelli had to say about bots, and growing older and getting jobs and the game turning into nothing but a shell for PVP. He would point out the cold facts. Sodomites do not leave their walls and got no influence in the world. Consequently, they cannot expand their culture and protect it from extinction.

And really people are the same everywhere? Yup.

The only english speaking town that would take total noobs Brodgar has been both comedy and tragedy.
Noobs being the head of the city kind of plays its role. It is not about the nationality, but the lack of knowledge and adequate

Can you say the same for the russian situation?
The Russian factions/villages can normally protect themselves; cautiously approach the recruitment; adjust their village layout accordingly. It is not like all Russians got a codex of honor to not to infiltrate to other villages and destroy them.

Btw russians at least should build Klaue a statue. He should be a national hero. You guys milked his drunken intellectually challenged but especially short lived behaviour for years. People who never even met the guy used him as a rallying point. I mean it was always gonna be nationals versus the world and some pretext had to exist but fuck if Klaue didnt serve it on a platter.
If Klaue needs a statue, you and burgi should get a temple.

But like ever I don't blame the playerbase even the russians. They can't help but be human.
As well as Avu cannot help, but to be Avu.

Did it was mentioned that English villages tend to get infiltrated because it is one of the most common, if not the most common, language? I mean I don't think anyone here is going to successfully infiltrate a village that speaks solely Sanskrit <.< .

And seriously, has anyone here successfully dropped their grudges?! It is like people are obsessed with past conflict that is hundreds of years ago (exaggerated here, but true in real life sadly :( )
You laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at you because you are all the same.
