Typical americans. Money money money, while people in ukraine are dying! Bloody capitalists, hope you're next.

So what's America going to do that will make this all better and why should they/we?
The US is "arguably" the #1 Nation for taking in "refugees". The past 12 months alone 2.5 million new people entered the U.S.A., attempting to seek some sort of refugee or asylum status. We could easily accept more. But you know, "typical Americans".
I say "arguably" because many are undocumented persons. No 1st World Nation has a border more open than the US. I'll leave that hot potato vague without explanation.

Looking back on recent American history, what gives anyone the impression that the US Government is interested in doing anything that is just and right for freedom loving people?
Ukraine (The Government of) fucked up when they started generously bribing US politicians. Ukraine further fucked themselves because most of those US politicians belong to one Party in the US. The US is a two Party system. Do you think that other Party has been feeling a bit left out and now grumpy ? Oh !!! ... and Ukraine tried to help fuck over that other Party! I almost forgot that little tid-bit!

:!: [q]hope you're next.[/quote]
Your expectation from one half of your argument defeats any chance of the expectations' fulfillments on the other half.
BUT
Your "hope" will likely come to fruition, possibly soon.
America has been making great strides towards civil war. The citizens of the US have purchased more guns and ammo than any other nation or people. Each of the past 5 years, we set a new world record over the previous year for guns and ammo purchases. The US Military/NATO is the only entity that has more bullets than the US citizens have. The same is true for night vision, thermal optics and body armor.

Pretty much agree.

I also hope California burns to a crisp and slides off into the ocean.

To prefer a war is something. What do you smoke, dude?

Jalpha wrote:The people made their choice and that choice was war

This is almost funny. So , if a nation whats to make a choice that is legaly and moraly theirs and the other nations threatens with war that means the first one is the one that chose war. Technically you might be right. That does not mean you know what you are talking about

Jalpha wrote:I suspect Ukraine will retain its independence only with closer ties to Russia

This is a contradiction in terms

Jalpha wrote:The best possible resolution is for Ukraine to attain cultural superiority over the West and the East. First they must submit to Russia.

Having cultural superiority is something Russia was preaching during cold war because USA did not had so much cultural history. It seems somebody stil believes in this notion.

Jalpha wrote:Transnistria is the best part of Moldova right now

This at most made me thing that either:
- your sources are very suspect
or
- you have learned very early in your life how to speak Russian

Of course second option implies the first.
Congratulations on your very good English

I have never witnessed an Australian speak the way you do, Jalpha. I have always believed the US had pretty good relations with Australia. Myself and any American I know of, with an opinion, has high respect for the Australian people. We are always astonished of how shit your Government is recently though. We never see that as an example of its people though. Growing up, I always thought the Australian people were the most true example of what freedom was. That thought has faded away somewhat though.

The only negative stuff I hear about, related to Australia, is tensions between Australia and China.
Correct or incorrect, just my perception of things.

Just a note for those in Europe (or east Texas) who think I'm bothered by attacks on capitalism or firearms ownership or California burning to the ground; the endless laundry list of sniveling Yanqui hate. I simply don't care.

We live in a globalized but also civilized world. Isolation would have consequences!

Looks sadly that civilian casualties are increasing as the bombing intensifies. Hopefully Kiev will not become Aleppo of Europe.

This is epic. Delayed post on ria.ru were accidentally auto posted at feb 26, they expected Ukraine to be part of Russia on that time, and be a part of a new russian world. The post is deleted already, but the internet remembers everything.

@MagicMan

My point was that forcing other nations to conform and adapt their culture is not in the best interest of diversity or cultural preservation.

Some people want to live in a society where some things are not waved in their faces constantly and where they can feel their children will be safe from certain types of predators.

I don't approve of the cultural whitewashing which is flowing out of the USA and clearly nor does Russia.
