I'm not American and never did I claim more guns would solve gun violence. I'm saying it's a mentality issue that needs to be solved and you won't stop shitty people from getting guns with more laws and regulations.

Then tell me why there are a LOT less shootings in countries that have more strict gun regulation? Such as Japan.

Yeah, "dumb" is probably the most simplistic way to put it, and apt, but hardly describes the problem. We can't all have a 150 IQ.

If you look closely this is comparing "homicide rate" and "gun ownership." The concern is violence within society. A rational persons goal would be to maximize the quality of life while preserving the most liberty. Guns were invented around ~1400. The time following on a per capita basis have been far more peaceful than the preceding. Since the introduction of nuclear weapons even more so. Draw the conclusion.

Anyways access to guns doesn't spur people to violence. Find out who the violent people are, don't let them have guns.
