I do actually agree, and i'm one of the few people that have actually purchased rage this world in our ever-shrinking (and ageing, god we're all getting old) group. But I do also think losing everything sucks major donkey dick, I do think seige should be harder, personally, the speed up this world basically means anybody who has a job can't defend against seige which is just bad all round.

I think there is room for a healthy pvp to exist in some form that allows both demographics to enjoy the game, but I don't know what the solutions are to get there. Losing character & a bit of gear sucks but easy to get over, losing your entire base can be an instant quit and never return for anyone who isn't completely hooked on the game. The latter is what a lot of you push for though and wonder why there is nobody left to try and dunk on.

Before I derail by screeching about siege, the main reasons PVP was so insanely dogshit this world are:
  • Nerfed teleportation into the ground (just world world 11 lol)
  • Really bad geography for PVP (just like world 11 lol)
  • Unlucky / not lucky placement of PVP villages relative to each other (just like world 11 lol)
  • Buying rage disincentivized (just like world 11 lol)
  • Safepalis rly bad (just like world 11 lol)
  • Grind kinda bad (just like world 11 lol)
  • You guys rmbr when everybody HATED world 11 for being 1:1 just like this world?

I don't think siege is possible verse a group of people who know how the system works at a basic level and are online. From my perspective there is no siege in the game, just the option to build ram to check if the defenders will abandon their village/quit over poor morale.

Understanding siege at a basic level can be a bit of an ask, to be fair. I don't think anybody is rly happy with how convoluted it is.

Don't think its derailing since its related? This is the discussion board afterall, i actually don't hate the teleportation this world, but the TW costs are a bit insane.

I do agree with points 2,3.

Rage, i'm not entirely against, hermit/pve players should be able to run inside thier walls for safety imo. I actually get really pissed off when I just want to go out to drop a quest or something real quick and I run into someone looking for pvp. I mean, its a pvp game I know, I also bought rage afterall, but I do miss being able to just fuck off to a safe pali to just not deal with it if i'm not in the mood.

safepalis now are the same but with a waterwheel slapped on the side.

Grind bad, i agree, the speed up made a lot of things a bit unbearable.

I do not agree that siege is a big issue about player count at all. How many players experience siege before they quit? I assume small digit.

For me (can be a bias) combat in haven is just terrible, first it is hard to understand for most of players, they they see that they do not even need to learn it as for playing it would be enough to use boat + sword with script. Most of players that I met did not want to be involved in this combat system at all. (I am not even talking about clicking rabbits/speed buffs/Forager credo -.-).
In the contrast Salem required players to learn basic of combat even if that was only stump/punch.

Here my idea is/was to force players to be involved in combat, remove possibility of being able to cheese animals from river or safe palis by just simply increase range of any animal attack to be greater than weapons range + add range attack to animals when they cannot find a path to player. Will it remove cheesing - I bet no yet I hope that it will force part of players to at least engage with combat system when killing badger/boar.
Maybe then more players will know that they need to lower openings and will be more keen to engage PVP, if they manage to kill a boar on land then why not to try to do the same with player.

Yet I really hope that some day they will dust old combat branch off and release it in world iteration like 16.2. I am aware that it had big issues like stun locks or was really ping oriented yet for me was much more fun and I would really love to test it with pve.

Oh also last thing, remove dying at water, make it KO and teleport to HF but please not just drowning...

It makes no sense...?

Anyway, I just finished bashing all the palis on your -1

Makes perfect sense to me. Are you really so dense that you don't realize your own autism is a major cause for such changes? In the same post you're complaining you also present a reason for why they occur. What a dumbass.

If somebody bashed my -1 I would not ask for PVP to be removed from the game. I don't enjoy the game very much when nobody is trying to kill me. Once you reach a certain fairly low level of competency it's very boring to have no enemies.

I think at some point most people felt that way, but the things designed to make the game more friendly made PVP more tedious to the point most of them left.

Also, that's such a stupid statement:

As if any of the players you've killed and/or raided have ever actually tracked you or attempted to get vengeance of any kind. Guess you're never having any fun then.

I watched that whole video (x2 speed, thank fuck) and we didn't even get to hear your voice, babe?
Mate, have you tried changing the way you play the game? Yeah I'm clueless retard, but if you're searching only the coast you're only going to find Hearthlings on the coast, right? It looks like you're patrolling a dead zone.
If you're searching all the known coasts, oceans and lands then maybe it's time to strip it back to 1 hearthling, 1 account. That's done wonders for me in games I'd previous gound to death. You've already said it yourself, right, you don't enjoy 'the game' anymore? It's as though you're squeezing the last life out of the Hearth Fire, without realising you could sit back a bit and watch it burn.

Is this a fair comment? I don't know, you tell me. I met most players when walking around as a single character, even sledding during that 1/7th winterval you complain about (infact wasn't it winter when you tracked me, that first time?).
There's that magnifier again, too. What're you looking for? Coords and a screenshot?

Quality comments in Hearth Forums? Make way for the newbros if this is an example.

You see this argument play out across all PVP enabled multiplayer games. It's just human nature, nothing specific to Hearth. Check out literally any 'full PVP' game - you'll see the theme run throughout.
