Off (on?) topic I'm just really mad about how Hillary is handling her campaign and I want to rant about it a little. She has been playing everything she can to split the party. First we had the whole 'I'm a woman so women have to vote for me' bullshit at the start of all of this campaigning. We had prominent feminists, legends really, throw themselves under the bus and destroy their careers and reputations just to say 'It doesn't matter that she isn't helping women in any way, what's important is that she's a woman and you have to sacrifice everything for her.' What was that absolute bullshit? Feminism is about being in it together and Hillary has never been in it to help anyone out, man or woman. Then the conversation migrated over to 'Bill was the first black president so you have to vote for me.' I don't mind that Bill Clinton was considered the first honorary black president for his upbringing and attitudes but god have the Clintons fucked over blacks. Sure, Nixon enacted the war on drugs but the Clintons really pushed it to hit black communities. Now we're in the phase of 'I'm the only real democrat, Sanders isn't a democrat.' Holy shit, how disconnected can you fucking be. I don't give a flying fuck if there's a D next to your name, I give a shit about what you want to do in office. That's the motivational power behind the Sanders campaign, people believe he'll actually do something in office.

The last thing I want at this point is another president who plans on being so moderate and bland that they'll push nothing through and sit on their hands for 8 years. That is the epitome of an absolute loss as far as I'm concerned.

Also how much of her campaigning has been to disinterest voters and keep people away from the polls (it's working, interested democrats have been dropping steadily since the campaign trail began) and then she expects someone to pick up the pieces for her so that these disenfranchised voters will come back and vote for her when she's facing Trump. Slash and burn your way to victory in the primaries, eh? At this point if Hillary did take the candidacy I'd kinda want Trump to win. I fear her policy of 'by any means necessary' to takes the vote and her policies of 'nothing' will block the democrats from retaking the white house for awhile regardless of how good or bad their policies actually are. The system may be bad but it will only get worse if it becomes a one party system. Much, much worse.

As if there were any doubt of that. Consumerism owns the people.
Sanders cannot change that.
But he might help remind some people that they have hearts. And their hearts, at least, were made to love their fellow man. And this love cannot exist without action, without generosity. Without desiring their good, and acting upon that desire.
