That got a laugh out of me.

Burinn please. Edit your post to the right person.

No. Why would you say something so bold, yet so controversial?

jacob232 wrote:Yea fighting botting in most ways is utterly useless.....best way of approaching the problem in a sane way and not completely ignore it would be to ask the question: "Why do so many people bot? Why do most custom clients have bots enabled?" Its because in the current state of the game its almost a requirement depending on the size of the base, group and task in question.
Come up with ways to reduce tedium, automate certain tasks....like farming a 20x20 plot i should be able to automatically drink while farming the grid area i selected.

to understand fully current state of game devs should at least somehow play the game on the level any decent hermit do... but as you can see on stream jorbs plot is no more than a shack with 4x4 plant spots, even without a palisade. loftar said he never got the base going last world.
if u will play the game like this - u will find out that the game does not require any kind of automation.

Nonsense. The thing is that once a problem is fixed properly, it never gets brought up again and you start to forget about it. For example, one of the biggest advantages botters used to have was that they could switch curios immediately once one finishes (rather than studying nothing as replacement until next login), providing vastly increased LP yields. This has been 99% fixed by the addition of Study Desks. (Botting allows it to be done in a slightly more optimal manner, but Study Desks are good enough as a replacement.)

I take my words back then. It's like you said, once a problem is fixed, we tend to forget about it. Plus our human tendencies to remember the negatives more clearly over the positives?

I think people are exaggerating the impact of botting. Regarding how rampant botting is, on the other hand...

I honestly feel like chatbots that don't actually do anything other than triggering people is an hnh tradition at this point

Sums up the Haven community fairly well, I think.

While chat bots are not reflecting reality flax and pepper bots are very common.
All that time freed up lets you do other things like build realm expansions, grief noobs and quest all day.
There wouldn't be an ethical problem to bots if everyone had access to them.
