So the combat ended with you being knocked out, not with you defeating it...

If so then the only bug I see here is with the yellow number appearing

Is there any way that I can re tether the animal? Do i have to wait for it to stop thrashing? I cant even right click a clover on it at all... Not really sure why?

I think the yellow number could have been me losing Hhp... So the tame was unsuccessful, but How do I stop it from despawing now? That was the fourth tame, it was suppose to turn after that. Is there no way that I can save it?

When you tether the animal for the first time it gets 15 taming progress. It's possible that the yellow 15 that appeared after you KOed simply means that taming progress is still 15.
Is the animal still ready for combat? If yes then maybe you can attack and defeat it to progress further with taming

No the animal is just walking around, its not in combat stance anymore, I wish to tether it the most right now, but the rope doesn't work because it says thrashing wildly. And when I try and use a clover, nothing happens - it doesnt take. Usually there would be a red message saying why a clover doesn't work... I'm not getting any message

When you get Ko'ed by the animal, you can fight it again without worrying about its stance(i believe its just a visual glitch,as reloading the map seems to put them back into combat mode) and fight for supremacy again. As long as it says thrashing its able to be tamed. At least this is my experience with taming my cow. Just heal up so you dont get worse wounds or use a different character.

I had like 8 cows tethered. After losing to the first one and realizing I couldn't tame them yet, I've murdered all of them. And now I read this....
...no regrets

10/10 would have 2 cupboards of Steak and Tubers again.
