Bloated Bolete. Trashy curio. Almost better off eaten than studied.

Can confirm. Our sewer eats them.

I still use boletes when I have nothing better to study. No real reason not to.

I'm too lazy to read the entire thread, but I've figured out a little bit about how the fate system works. It's very similar to the lore system and how that works.

Every now and then, you qualify to see a specific type of fate curio. It might be random or based on certain factors, but once you qualify to see a specific fate curio, as long as you meet other requirements (perc * exp), you will see them all. If you see a Bolete, and don't pick it up, you'll see plenty of other Boletes around the place.
When you pick up a fate curio, or after a certain amount of time, the fate curio you see will change. It's likely if you pick up a fate curio, there is a wait until you can see another however.

I will now accept sub tokens for the knowledge of how you can farm fate curios. Make me an offer.

Meanwhile, 95% of the population is stuck on flotsams because nobody can figure out how to trigger them, or it's fate based on crashing boats and will never happen

For a while I was gathering all mussles I found, probably boiled around 300. Not a single pearl, so I gave up and picked up literally no mussels. Since then I have picked up exactly 7 mussels, usually one or a few every other day, one of which gave a pearl. Of course this proves nothing, but what do you think of the idea that there are two different kind of mussels: regular and fated.

This would mean the chance of getting a pearl from a mussel is not rolled when boiling, and is not really a chance at all. Getting a pearl would then mean you had a fated mussel. Seeing how people seem to see more boletes when not picking up one they did see, could this mean not picking up any mussels at all would increase your chance of seeing fated mussels? In that case a worthwhile strategy of getting pearls would be to only pick up mussels once every day, and only a few at a time.

Might not be the case, might not even be close, but who the hell knows when it comes to the fate system.

Took a break from haven for a day, come back and both my characters see a bolete in their login location. Fate takes playtime into consideration?

Got one on the very first mussel I boil. Havn't even paid any attention to mussels so far... just needed another dex food and decided to boil all my nine (!) mussels.

Casual is the new pro. ¦]

Also this happen the very next day after I purchased a one year sub. Coincidence ? I think not ¦]
