It should be, however yes, it was a mild exaggeration.

The place is only a few steps away from becoming a caste system though.

I think people that will working hard can make a good life in America. I think many people today are making bad financial decisions and have a want for others fixing their own problems.

That's something I can't comment on too meaningfully as I'd only really be able to understand if I was actually a citizen of the US and I'm not. It does seem possible still to me though, albeit becoming more difficult. Debt for example is just an accepted part of life now if you want to succeed and that wasn't always so.

I think that in an effort to compete with countries like china in areas like manufacturing the only way is to reduce living standards, workplace health and safety standards and pay rates for employees and that's something that concerns me. In my country some changes were made, although later abolished, which were a step in this direction in an attempt to emulate certain aspects of the US model from my understanding. Hence my issue with it. As bloated and inefficient as unions are here I am still thankful they hold so much power because I'm no fan of capitalism and crushing the little man underfoot for progress.

In an event very fitting for a comical election such as the US', Marvel has hired people to work on a "what if Loki was a presidential candidate?" comic book.

Loki 2016 link here: http://www.comicbookresources.com/prev_ ... &oid=74144

I'm looking forward for Loki bumper stickers.

Ah. Now if only it were the other way around - if, instead, we were prudent with our resources, not only so we could fix our own problems, but even others' problems.

Ah... prudence... there's the resource that most Americans lack. Yours truly included. A prudent person wouldn't be wasting his time telling others to be prudent. :P

I'm sorry, this is why you're ignorant.

That's far from all you said, but sure

It is boggling for the mind how the people will spending their monies on such useless items. I cannot do some remember for the last time I am spending some money on things that are not stuff like food or rent. Aren't they knowing Haven is free?

lol :P How much does internet service cost in your country, Ysh? Or do you play at a public library? :P

But, totally. I once worked at a job where I'd get $1200 a month after tax. That's enough for a low quality, 1 BR apartment with $800 left a month. Living with my mom and paying her that $400 a month, in five months I was able to save up over $1600. I probably could have saved $2500 if I'd been even more judicious in my spending.

Let's say I was living on my own. After Rent ($400), utilities (~$150), and food ($300), and $55 for a 30 day bus pass, I'd still have $295 left a month. It'd be tight, but I have no reason to go into debt. Especially not considering I can surely cut some costs with a bit of knowledge and hard work - AND I can donate blood plasma (for at least $70/week!).

You just gotta use your brain and the resources around you. Americans are not famous for that.

I don't get it, either, Ysh.

(BTW, I don't have anywhere near that right now. I'm currently looking for work - though, of course, not very hard.)

I pay $50/mo. for internet. I actually am having quite a good income at the present, so maybe it can be easy for me to saying this. But I save all of the money I am earning that does not go to food/rent/other necessities (like internet) or interest. The main issues is some student debt I need to paying. But I see people spending some money to buy prepared food for $10+/meal. I am eating for $100/mo., this is not sensible I think. Or taking some loans to buy a new car. This seems to be as a bad idea all the time, unless maybe you are many richer than I am now. I cannot help but feel like many people lacking the money are in this situation due to their own habits.

I have a friend who at one time did some cleaning of his home. We were waiting for him to go to doing something out on the town and he asks for help with carrying some trash bags. We help to carry these bags down some stairs, and a bags rips and coins start dripping out. He had thrown away currency! It was the most absurd thing I have seen, we are still making fun of him for this one. I picked the coins from the floor, of course. Later I pay for a meal from these monies.

And it's not like this is uncommon. I have met many people who just do not care for their change and they will give it to me. They think I am weird for it, too. When I am at university, I pay for living expenses from just change. My father is running some cash business and he will stockpile these coins in the pockets at the end of his working day. We will take this to the bank and pay for food and rent for me in university. These coins can add up if people would not squander them.
