I really do not understand either how so many of you can be disingenuous or straight up lie about the extent of botting... like stya, we have been in the same village you are aware of that right?

At least be honest with everyone if you’re going to post about it, otherwise it just seems like you as well are trying to downplay the negative effects that occur in many of the recent worlds as a result. Players complaining about bots checking nodes or running around mountains did not always occur with such frequency.

We can plan another group therapy session next week.

???

Uh, okay. Great reply. Perhaps go and read over developer thoughts on PvP and try to understand that none of these actions are entirely benign. You are indeed impacting the game.

Oh yeah the "we are too lazy to do anything about it" legalese they added years later after changing their stance from "we don't disallow it but we don't endorse it either."

Slightly better response, but only by an incredibly tiny fraction.

The bots are inside your walls

You need to get them out, run EMI NOW or else the bots will continue to forever torment you from inside your walls

I don't trust you, you lying little shit.
Why don't I trust you? Because I too have been a part of big villages in the past WHICH IS HOW I KNOW, UNEQUIVOCALLY THAT THEY BOT and the highest stat players from said village (well-known big named players who I will not call out) used bots to make endless amounts of pies and cheese

Who specifically? Every world pvp is between the same people AD/russians, polish, brits. I've been in KoA/monke, plaeyd with polish, best miners didnt bot, dont know about the farmers but it was often some old lady or annoying guy. Ive been allied to darkins group of russians and half of us joined their village, Ive been allied to AD and played with felix. Literally who tf are you refering to that is botting? Arcanum have the worst stats and industry. Judging by how retarded u always sound I can only think u were in snails group ok they botted cheese and tree quests in W10. I get it. Ive heard it a million times. Do I care? No.

At no point in 10 worlds of playing this game have I ever felt like I had some big disadvantage because of bots of clients, not even slightly

Dunno what you're smoking man but I want some of it. Factions have been botting since world 3 or even earlier than that, you have played with many of them. There was always controversy around bots when LP resulted directly from actions, and even after that in worlds 4, 5, 6, and so on. The mechanics have changed since then and bots/scripts and custom clients have only significantly improved.

Not mining, most of them not even farming, not hunting (apart from scouting bots), not pvp, whats funny is when I was in those mega villages they didnt even bot terraforming or clearing trees which seems like prime bot candidate, it was always just done by noobs

You cant tell me whos botting or what the bots are. Its starting to sound like "systemic racism" boogeyman argument where no1 can even point an example. Youre correct that since the early worlds there has been controversy around bots, everyone thinks its some big epidemic and ppl like snail love to fan those flames at every opportunity but the reality is it has the tiniest impact on the game. Maybe when the world goes long and the cheese bots kick in its a bigger deal at least we can talk about this tangible thing, cheese bots, and discuss solutions rather than being like joojoo and crying over vague notions of unfair advantages

Idk how ppl expect jorb/loftar to take the complaints serious when the complaints are so vague and hysterical. From what I can tell they are actually dealing with a lot of the real complaints most of the time. They nerfed the fuck out of foragables when that was too botted. The world resources got nerfed and they made it so alts cant just log in and collect the same node over and over. Maybe if someone proposed a real solution to cheese bots theyd implement it. I dont have experience in that area but I bet if I did Id realize its not as bad as people make it out to be, it never is. Even getting the milk is probably a lot of work already.

We only don't use salt bots anymore because salt is worthless now. Getting around the restrictions on who can harvest a node is pretty easy.
Likewise, the local pools thing made the foraging bots go from maybe 50 lines to maybe 500 lines, but the actual output was not really changed except for cave clay because it's so node based.

I'm not going to argue with anybody on either side about how much of an effect bots have, but I would like to very firmly state that as the person writing the scripts even though I'm pretty middling in skill none of the changes have prevented me from doing something I wanted to do
