Past couple of worlds I use ND client and played with him a bunch of times, I havent seen this feature in the client or being used. It does sound like something that could exist I guess and devs could probly fix it by just making animal ql random

Admittedly I don't know how most client developers go about it. It's not like you log in an alt and push a button and it starts pathing around and reporting whatever it's supposed to be looking for (or maybe some do idk), more likely it's a combined effort of village members locating the high quality locations and client developer setting something up at and around those locations to be consistently run on a stripped down version of the client.

youd have to find a good ql animal node by regular hunting then put an alt there which logs in every 5 min and notifies if it sees the specified animal, its same principle as angler or mammoth bot

never seen it in practice tho, id be too lazy to set it up, i dont even keep track of animal ql nodes lol

Sheep, how often you play past first month or two?
There's a point like 3-4 months in where you could get a char to 1k str in like 3-4 days from botted food ez.

That's why I mentioned the devs probably need better methods of keeping track of player data than they currently have. Looking at stats at the end of a world and seeing 1k, 5k, 10k, whatever, is rather meaningless if you don't also know the length of time it took to achieve them, the foods used to gain the stats, the impact of high quality symbel on the speed of development, and so forth. These factors can all be influenced by botting.

People tend to underestimate just how much of a negative reputation this game has when it comes to bots.
I make threads to promote H&H all the time on /v/ right before a new world begins and I've seen a few others do the same. No Haven and Hearth thread concludes without half the thread discussing bots and subsequently being put off from the game by that notion.
Now admittedly their thought process is kind of archaic, they seem to think it's just 'russian botters' when I'm sure everyone here knows it's not russian botters because all of the big villages bot at some level, but apart from them solely pinning this on russians they are still right. It's a major turn off.
Check the archives if you doubt me, every H&H thread will be filled with people shitting on the game because of its rep for allowing botters and alts to run wild. That is the number 1 thing that this game is known for. All of the good aspects of this game are buried by this stigma and J&L still don't do shit to remove this stain. You're throwing this wonderfully crafted game to the wind and squandering any chance at it becoming big.

I think the steam release is going to give a substantial boost in players for the short term but most of those are going to drop off when they're faced with this same botting/alting reality. Best case scenario is that we retain a few of them who just accept that this is how the game is and ignore that aspect to try focus on the (many) positives the game has going for it.
Picture it this way, I'm trying to sell you on a game and some other guy says something like..."Nah dude, don't play that, it's full of people botting almost every aspect of the game, you'll never be able to compete, you'll need to befriend somebody who knows how to fucking code or learn yourself and you'll have to come to terms with the fact that bots and alt abuse is just the way the game is".
That's what people are hearing about the game and then when they ask other players to debunk that shit, those players (assuming they're not being disingenuous) cannot debunk them because it's true.

When was the last time some completely new unheard-of player joined the game recently and became infamous for being a force to be reckoned with? Doesn't happen. We've had the same villages playing world after world for 10+ years now and nobody gives a fuck about anybody but them. Literally nothing has changed lol. We're still talking about AD, Ozzy's village, Trollex's village, the koreans and so on. We were doing that in legacy too.

Not stomping down on botting and the need for alts has killed this games popularity. The stigma that this game is ran by vets who all use bots will never go away and why should it? That's an accurate description of the game.

Guess what, your ramblings are part of the problem. Everyone crying for pages and pages how unhappy they are, that bots ruined their lives, are discouraging people from joining or staying.

Yeah, I'm sure it's my fault why the server drops to having 60 people playing a day after the first few months and not because of the rampant botting that is occurring.

Ee gads man could you stop already?

You have done nothing but just spew insults. No one here takes you seriously, you are just like all these forums alts that rattle about.

Start putting some meat into your replies and I'll take you seriously.
