Does anyone play Solo?

I typically play solo, but I sometimes play with friends I have known a while.. They always end up doing nothing and taking all my hard work for granted so I move out, leaving them the place. Then they stop playing, let it decay. And I go off and do my own thing.

I almost always hermit and this world is no different. After i get raided the first time i'll probably try to find a town to catch on with but for the moment, it's just me alone in my idyllic mountain valley.

I usually solo in others' ruined work. I have had friends, though. And I did once live in a village for a couple months on world 7.

I'm going solo and nomad ATM.

Negative. The closest any other player has come to my valley is like a 30 minute walk/run to the northwest.

It depends on what you mean by "soloing".

I don't like the idea of being tethered to people. In most MMOs I played you often competed against members of your group instead of other groups/enemies, etc. I hate having my DPS/healing/etc. compared to someone else's because I become nothing but a statistic. You have people who want to be the "hero" or the "leader". The worst kinds of groups are the EVIL RAIDING GUILDs... it's the so called "laid back" groups that have high-strung people to act like pretentious snobs. Not to mention the cliques. That said, its nice to actually have a positive impact on a community even if your are loner. Most MMOs just have a level cap increase and all the content you just did last expansion is forgotten.

nobody i have met so far i would consider playing with. mainly because i have trust issues and also because they never say hello. i see that as a red flag in my book
