When I was reporting my 3 day old cellar boar to jorb, he actually said corpses decaying at all is the bug. Guess they changed their mind on how that should work.

Just eat high energy low hunger foods. There's honestly a negligible benefit from keeping yourself at low energy versus just eating an extra rat on a stick or some dried bat wings. Risking starvation if you're caught in a chase is pointless.
