I'd gladly do it if you're willing to not wear any armor/clothing alongside it :D

Yes. I guess you can use magic wand on gimp to select whiteish areas. Then just use white color on your selection and you will have 100% white edges.
I guess if you have some fancier program for it or are skilled you can do it some other way.

Simply convert the image to indexed mode, and select a low number of colors, or, even better, use the actual palette the game uses. Then just trim any remaining crap off.

Here's the palette in a form that the Gimp can import:
Code: Select all
GIMP Palette
Name: Haven upload
#
30 30 30   (30, 30, 30)
40 40 230   (40, 40, 230)
50 180 25   (50, 180, 25)
220 90 30   (220, 90, 30)
190 40 130   (190, 40, 130)
240 20 20   (240, 20, 20)
90 190 190   (90, 190, 190)
220 220 220   (220, 220, 220)
230 220 50   (230, 220, 50)

Don't expect any magic, though. On more arbitrary images, even the Gimp doesn't automate the process particularly well, and I don't think I'll be able to do better than a dedicated image-processing program.

Theoretically, you should be able produce any colour by mixing pigments of three basic colours(red/blue/yellow) in certain proportions, and with the addition of black and white for shading. I'm not sure if it would be 'realistic', as it might not be possible to mix some pigments due to chemical properties etc. And I have no idea how hard it would be to calculate exactly how much given pigments you need to get certain colour and to code it.

And though it would be nice to have more options, i'm not complaining. I'm having fun designing stuff for future use, but i'd love to see that shield front view redone, so that image centers on it properly.

Oh, don't get me wrong :) What you guys did is great already. I guess I'd only hope for a few more colors and maybe allowing colors with less than 100% opacity (not sure how to say that in english) which would give us sort of 'shading' ability when painting :D

Priority for more colors though :P Not asking for a 16 million color palette, but maybe one or two shades of each one already in (like different blues, a crimson red, etc..) and grays? :D
