Well, it's probably not going to change my game, I haven't left my gates open and can't think of any reason why I would even want to, I don't really want random ppl walking around my village, lol, it won't make any difference to having visitors as I've only ever let ppl into my base/village that I trust 100% and given them full perms ... unless it's for trading, (which no longer applies in the same way) but then they have been enclosed in a brickwall and, again, I only trade at mine with ppl I trust, which has always worked out just fine. :)

I see this more as being advantageous to bigger villages though, which is the intention and there are some I would like to visit if this takes off and ofc for trading, if there end up being any traders who trade in in-game goods.

I think if I had a large village, nicely laid out that I was proud of and wanted to show off, like my w7 village in legacy, then I may be tempted to leave the outer gates open ... tbh I'm not sure, a hermitage is more personal than a village in that kind of way, it feels a bit like me leaving my front door at home open ...

It is nice to rest your weary bones from time to time. It is nice to lay down your burdens. It is nice to have a seat.

The system needs some fine tuning aswell

My farmer has full rights to my pclaim, but if I do something like enter my animal pen for example (which is a stick fence) I am given the visitor's status

It looks like only the pclaim owner benefits from this change because even people with full rights are given the visitor buff

This means that even if someone wanted to let a person inside and attack them, only the pclaim owner themselves would be able to fight
This means any attack against a person visiting would be a 1v1 (not the worst thing in the world, but also not sure if intended)

It has allowed me to more readily make new and improved vaults based off how the mechanics work.

Frankly the idea could have been better implemented with a new authority object, or with an upgrade/modification to existing ones... But I think the point is they didn't want us to be able to arbitrarily invoke protections over broad areas, just inside walls.

I approve of it, but was suspecting we'd run into issues like that mentioned by Mr "My farmer gets visitors status inside the cow pen"

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

I'm up to two bugged visitor debuffs, can't wait to see how high I can get it!

It's called brodgar, Ladygoo ;)
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
