Now that palibashing doesn't exist, pallisades gain soak over time and sieging is harder, new players have more than enough time to get some protection set up. Also, the new siege system is going to see no use at all if the world is made bigger, given that it takes special resources to make siege items now and it also requires a concentrated effort to siege somewhere. Increasing the world size is going to result in one of the most boring, least active worlds we've ever had.
These hermit players that want to be 100% left alone hours away from any contact don't consider that perspective though, sometimes I think they forgot the game that they are playing. I think it's pretty selfish to want to expand the world so they can go and hide away in a corner and not interact with any other people ever. That does indeed make for such a boring game.
