Yeah they're some of the best agi food around for me since the only offset is a chance for psy which is not a problem. Their hunger is pretty low and if you have a decent table, you can get agility to decent levels pretty quickly eating only bats before you switch to DDD's or some other food you like

living mostly in a cave, bats rock, the food they provide when spit roasted is awesome for the main stats int, agil, perc, their wings are decent curios or food, and you can then combine bat and stalagooms into cave dogs for even more awesome food.

Their hides are also great for everything, starting to use the huge surplus of their hides to make arrows. I clear the caves of them every couple of hours and have more batwings than i know what to do with. Its super simple to fight them one by one as well, just get enough agil and unarmed and you can punch/left hook them quickly and just keep defenses up and your golden, great source of so many things.

Good supply of entrails from them as well for mirkwoods.

Spit roasted bat meat is great to buff a fresh noob or alt with a spread of int agil and perc, which is always helpful. And now with rats in caves too + cave dog + cavebulbs psy is more possible earlier

I've never used the combat system in legacy, nor in w8... Got 20 agi and 20ua and started farming bats. Got the occasional hit when I was rushing and not putting enough defenses, but at 30/30 it's super easy.
