I never tried it, does it stay consistently fun after a while? Or does all fun halt over the course of a few days after the end of perceived linear progression?

It's pretty much like Hafen but with more fluff along the way and a couple of snares to try and force you to keep playing. Plus the devs are terribad, great game if you like chugging choad.

I like their no-bullying policy, where for swearing and being "mean" (or, in other words, saying anything bad about the devs - which is considered a death sentence level crime) you will be banned. I think Hafen and forums could use a system like that, too.
Also them helping players they like in many ways is cool.

No matter how bad Hafen is, Salem is worse. xD

Oh wow, don't troll, both are similar games but with different key aspects and focus, Salem has darkness and witchcraft while haven has a lot of differently implemented stuff. Both are good games and both will be hard to learn from start. Bored/Killed in one? Hop to other for a while, why not? None is better than the other unless fanboy.

IDK what kind of image to post to make it on topic, also i was the one that killed grapiefruit, she played for like 155 days (there's an npc counting how much time you spent online) until she left scents on one of my abandoned villages with her main...

Well, it's a matter of perspective. In Hafen, developers tend to abuse and torment players they dislike.
Good thing is, they dislike all players equally >.<

Things I liked in Salem and would prefer in Haven.
+Fluff
+Witchcraft. These days it almost feels weird that you can't just Google how certain stuff in game works. (Devs have threatened to change mechanics to new ones if they are "leaked.")
+Toolbelts
+Wrought Iron crafting process that allows you to turn cast iron into wrought with 1:1 ratio and encourages social play albeit it's punishing for hermits
+Inspirationals system could be considered better than having to constantly fill study screen in Haven. Comes down to personal preference. Will you rather grind generic Learning Points or plan how to fill your proficiency bars most effectively?

Things where games are equal
:Current FEP system in Hafen and Salem's gluttony system are, in my personal opinion, about equally strong mechanics. I assume many people prefer one or another but I'll sit on the fence for this one.

Things I don't like in Salem and Haven does better
-Cupboards and storage space in general is really expensive, encouraging you to carry everything you own in your inventory and then lose it because game doesn't let you log in where you logged out for some reason
-Salem has no stat caps or resets. Results in people whose humour values are hundreds of points above you. Fresh spawn player can have hard time to do anything because their humour bars are so low and game is balanced for people with LOTS of humours.
-Combat is skill-based in theory but its nearly impossible to defeat player who has twice your humours

I think main reason I quit was because I felt there aren't awful lot of other things to do other than grind your character. The fact that other players were so far ahead made it feel futile.

Combat in salem is not very good.

There was a wise soviet conscript that was surrounded by the enemy on the battle of Stalingrad. A mortar shot teared his pants apart causing a big hole in his pants right on his right butt cheek. He felt a glorious cold ass breeze of wind on his butt cheek, like it would be sent by stalin himself, he said - hide your butts

You have more likes for Salem than Haven. Do you not play this Haven for Salem substitute? Or maybe few Haven goodness is heavier weight than many Salem goodness? Or maybe this is example of pinko illogic?
