Have you ever dipped fried potatoes into ketchup? I'm guessing this works out the same.

Difference is temporal duration. Fry is dry until ketchup is put onto it. Here fry is soaks in gravy.

Probably about the same as chili fries. Yeah, they won't be as crispy once you add the gravy, but you're adding flavor and such. Looks good. I might try it out next time I make fried chicken and have the chicken gravy.

Oh yes this used to be a thing in the US but we are talking back in the 70's. However few used the term poutine. You were more likely to hear regional slang like cheese fries with gobbler. The main reason I suspect its not around anymore is due tot he fact cheese curds are no longer easily available in most places. You can find all sorts of cheese but almost no curds. Times change. :)

Poutine is the French word for it since I think it got it's origins here in Québec but people in other places in Canada call it this as well, just pronouncing it with an English accent lel

I think because there was no French influence in the US the name never carried over? idk

Cheese curds are easily obtainable if you want to strain cottage cheese and let them dry a bit. ;)
