Wizard sociaty, due to their backward nature, and fear of muggle technology left them with very little scientific knowledge that muggle possess today, wich is the reason why magic doesn't get along with technology. In truth while the wizard are stuck with the same understanding of the world, due to magic solving the need to understand things like mathematic, anatomy and the likes, muggles kept advancing on all fields, wich allowed them access to new weaponry and defense mechanics. Thus in a conflic of wizzard vs muggles, wizard would be in a massive disadvantage due to magic not working with modern technology, also muggles would very likely understand how their magic work and possibly even imitate it at some poing
