I really liked the sprites from Legacy

Sword and shield fighters looked awesome to me

And interestingly enough there was actually less botting prior to world 4 than there is now but I'm glad it's more difficult to run multiple clients at once compared to before anyways. Of course, that only requires the hardcore botters to use stripped down versions of the client in order to run multiple at one time I guess.

I myself really liked cape animations, and how carefree single handed movement animations were, swinging your hands like you were punching the air whilst moving.

Legacy totally had a unique aesthetic. I really enjoy it, but I think Hafen did a great job of transition the art style into 3d. But 2d will always have a place in my heart.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.
