A thing that annoys me is that many times, the people who are quick to tag something as "merely shitposting" have often not looked at the content in detail, because it so closely matches their perception of what a shitpost would look like. As someone who sometimes shitposts, but with multiple levels of meaning embedded in the shitpost, I think this attitude kind of sucks.

How will someone who only quickly glances at the author's name, or the form of the post, and then makes a decision on whether the post has a right to exist or not know if the post hides something more significant? Just as an upside-down urinal might be a provocation for you to think about how you define art (something which has been done to death, but was nevertheless creative the first time around), so too a "shitpost" might have some other meaning, if you just cared to look.
