a starting point to look at ... as Deutsche Bahn Prices and such is confusing sometimes i'd ask a german co worker for help ... i.e. without Bahncard Reductions going Munich Milano (and back) for example is about € 140 when travelling by train ... by Bus it can get much cheaper
i.e. €19 Munich to Milano one way ...

Get a few people with you buy a "Bayern Ticket" and take the train
