good advice.. take advantage of the lesser player count to learn the new hafen (still kind of same old but tons of new stuff/mechanics over legacy). as long as you dont block roads or build right next to active villages, you should be pretty safe. then you can decide if you enjoy playing hafen enough to join up for real when the next world starts

Personally, when noobs block my roads I just ride around them in circles for a bit until they run indoors and then rebuild the road around their hovel.

Ayy Vigilance how have you been? Throwback to W5 when you and RJT used to terrorize me and my village filled with noobs. I think I'll take a dive into haven this weekend, I appreciate the info. hope all is well

It looks really interesting but it's hard to get used to the new salem-like graphics

It's worth it in any case just to get used to the new version before a new world does come, which it looks like being awhile yet, though you never can tell. There is a lot to get used to since legacy, new mechanics, wildlife and content, best to familiarize yourself now imo and be better prepared when a new world does arrive. It's also always a lot more peaceful later on in any world which gives you more freedom to explore and experience the changes. :)

I agree that while it's nice when it's peaceful, being a noob and constantly being scared of other human interaction is one of my favorite parts of the game. Moreover, making friends around you and knowing the area by who is around you and making noob trades, etc.. that's the beauty of this game. I don't want to get back into the being locked in a brick-wall village, starving myself and making/eating cheese to palibash grind again. That's what drained the game for me in w6/7 when I had been playing for so long. It got to a point where I was so safe and powerful and it was just grinding up quality to become the "best" relative to other players.

Heya Potjeh. I hope everything's well.

Holy shit boys it's been like 10 years since i first touched this game. Some of the same people are still around and it's beautiful. My life has changed so much but im glad to see this game still has the community (or remnants of) that made it so awesome.

Do man,I just jumped back into the game last month and It has that fresh feeling of not knowing everything off hand. Plenty of abandoned places to move into or bash into, new animals running around.

The community fair Is worth a visit too rather impressive feat.

I quit before credos came out, and came back a week ago.
It's fun, but just stick to crafting at the moment. Many of the power warriors out there have high stats.

I just leveled up enough combat stats to kill beasts.

I started this world a month ago and i've been raiding abandoned palis. Turns out one wasn't abandoned and on the 7th loot ride the guy was already inside. The guy had moved but returned frecuently for the q79 water and saw scents everywhere. I actually bought rage that moment thinking about killing him but i realized that he must be like months older, and impossilbe to kill.
So i gave the keys back and that was it. No revenge, no "bring my stuff back!". Not even a slap in the wrists. Stuff i stole was so worthless and i was so insignificant that he could just shoo me away. Kind of killed this world for me.

PS: He even gave me access to the well when i asked. half-jokingly :(

I remember you.
It's definitely still worth playing if you can look past all the world drama that is/has happened.
