I like some of the early Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) inspired ones by Heinrich Vogeler

This was what my mom read to me as a child. I remember the story going roughly something like this:

A mother leaves her children unattended, they burn down the hat that they live in, a weird gnome guy gives them a scolding. They ask him for help, but also tells them that he hopes they get beaten, and then tells them to undress. In the end I think they build a new cabin and the mother comes home. They get cake but they're also beaten, IIRC the weird gnome guy volunteers to beat them. I imagine the weird gnome guy is a lot like loftar.
The low life has lost its appeal
And I'm tired of walking these streets
To a room with its cupboards bare

I really like the bearded woodworker set because of the consistency across the home in the images. Sitting in different chairs or tables shows chairs and objects from previous scenes in the background
