I did scholar recently with 30 quests per level. It ruined the game for me in a similar way to digging 200k sand for an impossible item.

Lol, I'm on 26 quests per level and would be on 28 if I was going to do scholar but I've more or less given up now, I can't believe I once thought questing was fun!

Lazy noobs, amirite?

There's some useful perks in credos, but for the most part, I find it's just not worth the time to suicide characters to do them, and not worth the effort to grind it out... If I happen to get one done on my current list while playing normally, yaaay me!

I hope they fix the suicide method for the next world.

I figure that in a world where wandering around is arguably safer than it has ever been, especially during the first half of a world, it might make more sense to spend a lot more time questing. I have done some credos with a new char and got up to 8 per level and it's annoying, yeah, but a lot of the quests are pretty relative to the natural development of a character and village. I kinda like the idea of having quests as a sort of side project that progresses fairly evenly along with all the other grinds we seem to enjoy in the game.

Maybe some of the brutally high numbers can be mitigated with some high exp cost hearth magic instead. Maybe insta quest completion for a cost, or maybe even a character stat like will or charisma, or a fully new credo offering a chance to turn a completed quest in to a count of 2 completed instead?

Either way, the whole rest of the game is a slow burn, so I think character development should be as well.

Credos have only been out for a year and a few months. For the people saying that are in the 30s with their quests, have you been actively questing this entire time, or taking long breaks, or what's the deal? Genuinely curious.

I've not suicided and have only abandoned 1 credo quest, but gardener took a month if not more, I found it fun doing most of the others, it gave me something to focus on when I didn't know what to do next. Spending in the region of a month looking for Galena was a pita though. But that is the point of credos, they aren't supposed to be easy. I hope in the new world the reset of the number of quests is removed, you aren't supposed to be able to get them all. Characters should be precious, food system is broken making stats too easy and credos are broken making them too easy.

I just think some quests are a little too hard, or boring/time gates. Harvesting quests for a gardener can be 10 days, there isn't any challenge, just waiting. Finding a specific ore for a miner, or a specific size AND cut of gem for a gem cutter is so annoying and really just comes down to brute force/persistence/rng. I would suggest changing the specific ore to something more generic, so instead of mine x Galena it would just be mine x ore of silver. For gardener either remove harvest quests or implement a method to rush growth that isn't easily spammable #whydontyoujust.

Fixed this for you.
