As bad as I fit what I'm about to say, making me feel like a hypocrite, I'm going to say it:
Don't make assumptions about the future. You never know what kind of shit the world is going to pile on you. you might end up being the test case for a new law making it felony vehicular homicide if you get in a car wreck while messing with your phone. Good luck getting a good job with that on your record. Disclaimer: I have no clue if anyone here is one of those people. I'd like to think everyone here is a safe and attentive driver. I'm just pulling an example out of my ass. 40 years ago, nobody gave a shit if they drove home drunk... and then the laws were changed, first just a big fine, then loss of license, then prison time if you killed someone--at least in most US states.
And in the future, the world might become automated, but that may not be in your lifetime. If it is, (probably will be) you might need to be one of those few people that either creates or runs that automation, else you're going to be relegated to the starving masses... and I do mean starving because the way the world population is going, and if the other "near future" predictions are correct, "climate change" is going to decimate our food sources. If you ain't rich, you'll be starving. It'll be the middle ages all over again with the villagers rioting over the meat of a dead dragon. Wait, that's a movie.
