I've mapped 200x200 map grids and found ten ore nodes in each map tile. I won't post any proof of this though for op-sec. Do you believe me?

Why post something that is fundamentally unbelievable then complain when people don't believe you?

That's interesting...

loleznub wrote:Unfortunately, posting my map here would most certainly give my location away so I can't give you proof in that regard, but I am more than happy to show you some leftover extract:

I'd post my map with ~75% of the area mapped for ore my village has collected since the world start, across multiple areas as we've moved twice now, with over hundreds of veins of ore. If your point is that "we were just super, super unlucky" why even present that as something that a decision should be made off of? If you're claiming what you're saying is both true (I don't think it is) and an extreme fringe case why should anyone care as it's apparently an exceptionally uncommon experience to have?

Guess we can let the people see which of us they should trust then. One moment you say you would post your map tiles, and then minutes later you say the complete opposite. I even made you a deal, based off your own writing which you blatantly ignored.

Guess I've got more credibility than a known liar, considering I've at least posted something for proof!

As much as I think Burinn is an idiot, saying something like:

Considering I've used well over a thousand rustroot charges of quality extract to completely map out my local areas underground resources (about a 15x15 minimap tile area, so give or take 225 minimap tiles total) and have only found a very, very small node of tin. I have then traveled 50 or so minimaps away to find a motherload of quality Calcopyrite.

makes it really hard to consider you more credible. I'm going to go with Burinn on this one. You're both probably being hyperbolic but I agree with them in that there isn't anything to complain about and that you should just "git gud".

One time I live in area where ore is hard to find so I go to other area to find ore.

Guess when I get home I'll have to take my maps tiles out and then post just the markers for you, since it's really that hard to believe. Prolly be about 20-30 min pending traffic.

Posting on forum while drive is not safe. I hope you do not do this one! Please stay safe.

I guess you didn't get the context of me having said that after you said you won't as not to reveal your own position. But whatever, that doesn't matter. Your maps, and my maps, are not proof. That's my point. Your barren map with no markers on it is not proof of there not being ore there.

I don't know why people have such a hard time finding ore. Look at all this ore and very useful, very true proof I have of it!

Don't worry I don't text and drive at the same time. But heres my maps for proof:

I don't really think the proof compares equally, here.

Considering those that were vehemently opposing me have now gone silent after viewing my reply, there you have it folks turns out the experienced player was correct in the end and a sprucecap that was acting high and mighty was indeed wrong.

To recap, we learned:

loleznub wrote:
Burinn wrote:There is ore everywhere. Get better rust root.

This is incorrect.

It's entirely based on nodes and RNG, so while you might be lucky and have ore everywhere there are places that have absolutely no ore.

So before you start spouting:
Burinn wrote:re:git gud.

I have, just now, gone out with 10 doses of rustroot and found 7 different veins of ore in a 4x4 area.

You should at least learn some of the more fundamentals of how the game works!

tldr;

Ore spawns are "node" based. Essentially, certain areas have plentiful amounts of ore (generally the same type of ore) and certain areas are nearly dead zones.

Your intervals look like 50 tiles. Sure hope you used Q30+ rustroot extract for every single use!

I do like that when push comes to shove the size of the region you allegedly checked is now 50% less in dimensions and a square of your claimed volume. Classic.
