I may be wrong but to my knowledge it went like this:

Shubla: Asks Jorb multiple times to do something about boat-killing

Jorb: Either does nothing or insists that deep water should be dangerous

Shubla: Demonstrates the problem by killing three random people with alts that barely have Rage

Jorb: Fixes the problem

It was more like

shubla: complain about nabs dying without suggesting a viable solution

shubla: kills some nabs

jorb: tries to fix it

jorb: makes it worse, but appeases the people who didn't rly understand how things work

Well whats a better solution mr genius?
The whole boat combat should be disabled but then there may be some abuse then though one could already do it oh well. Maybe boat hitboxes should be allowed to overlap etc.

I don't have a solution, but making things worse isn't a solution, either.
In general I don't think people who don't participate in combat should make combat suggestions

Did you miss the part where Shubla told the devs he would continue killing people until they changed a mechanic? That sets a precedent for every moron with an issue to just blackmail the devs by threatening to kill players. It's all well and good saying what Snail is doing is putting people off the game but what about those people Shubla killed? Or the ones he would have continued killing? There are far more toxic people in the game and the forums than Snail.

everybody knows It was never shublas intention to fix anything
his only intention was to flex his influence over jorb, as is the case with almost everything he does

How is the change made to knarrs worse than what it was before? I agree that its not optimal as you can still kill people from knarrs, but at least you have a chance to escape, because you won't get Ko'd after the first volley of hits (which may lay before the knarr has even loaded on your screen) like you did earlier.

Why do you think it was fair to kill people to blackmail the devs? How is that better than how Snail plays the game?

Just to clear up, I have not blackmailed anyone. I had complained to devs for a long time about boat combat in general and how its just stupid, but they didn't do anything. Jorb just said something like "hum hum water should be dangerous".
I merely pointed out how stupid easy it is to go around killing people easily with pretty much 0 chances for them to escape. I did PM them beforehand, partially because I was lazy and didn't want to do it in general, and in other hand because I didn't want to get nuked etc. so maybe they'd have told me if it was nukeworthy as a reply. I did even suggest them a fix, to disallow attacking from all but the captain. (Not optimal as I said earlier, but still better)
If we compare this one time occasional silliness to various things that aforementioned has done, the title still, strongly, holds.
