But yeah, it's a bit too crowded, especially on the north continent. Map border area is INFESTED with too many hermits.

If you listen carefully, you'll find that different people have different tastes. I, for example, tend to complain about crowding, but rarely about emptiness. World 15 was a bit more empty than I'd prefer when they finally took it down, but overall far more pleasant to play than world 16 is currently.

In general, people who are into PvP want a very crowded world - particularly those whose PvP amounts to griefing. AFAICT, they prefer to have lots and lots of potential victims, without much work to find them. Hermits want people close enough to trade with, and conversation on kingdom channels - once there are kingdoms - but may not care about more. I've no idea what the faction players want, except that you need population to keep up kingdom benefits; I understand this became a problem late in world 15.

The longer I play, the more I prefer to be a hermit. So I'm finding world 16 far too crowded currently, and the corners where it's not so crowded usually also feature rather unattractive terrain. Hopefully (from my POV) lots of people will get frustrated and quit, long before the launch of world 17.

A related complaint is the extra-long ocean coastline. The coastline seems much more indented than in past worlds. Very fractal.

It won't be long before griefers have snekkjas, and will be using that ocean to launch raids. Comparative safety for hermits lies inland, not visible from any (connected) waterway, but particularly the ocean.

Put another way, "good" terrain for hermits seems to be in extremely short supply.

Don't complain then, it's pointless, just play the game. If the area is too crowded, move to other area or make the crowded area less... crowded. This is a sandbox game, you can rid of hermits with some clever work very easily. Or wait 2-6 months till most of them burn out and stop playing.

We just walked for like 2 hours until we found a good spot. Sometimes the game doesn't play itself, sometimes it needs a little help.
Bash wet claims until you're the only one left in the area lol

This world is ass.
1. Random spawns is a huge negative that I advocated against. Not a single place on the map is uninhabited. World 15 you could find a place with no signs of life for miles, all you had to do was whirlpool out of the central island.
The people who advocated for random spawns to get away from factions and other players have, predictably, shot themselves in the foot. Central spawn was a blessing in disguise, they just couldn't see it.
2. Worlds fucking tiny. We've already got the world map and it's basically just 3 land masses with like 2 smaller ones near them. Yawn
3. Every single continent is inhabited by at least 1 huge faction. Anybody saying they're in a low population area is wrong unless they're somehow on another island that isn't shown on the map we've currently got mapped out and I don't see how that would happen, I've went through dozens of whirlpools at this rate and they all lead to the 3 main islands.

World 15 was objectively laid out much better. We could have had the exact same central island spawning but on a bigger map and it would have been perfect.
Very disappointing.

Oh, and on the off chance that an island or two is locked behind Knarr access, who gives a fuck? Most hermits aren't going to get to the knarr stage and even if they do, they probably aren't going to want to relocate so late into the game.

I have yet to find a single other player Settlement despite hours of travel time exploring before I settled in my current place.... sounds like you are in a population dense area

It doesn't really extend much further south based on kamis map.
I was able to touch the south border with alts taking dugouts.

If you thought those black spaces had no one living in them guess again, the world has been stripped bare by the fiends of the pools

world should've been 2-3x bigger, right now you can't walk for more than 5 minutes without seeing a base.
