I have not died from PVP since world 7, everyone that's complaining about getting ganked, what are you doing that I'm not doing? What am I doing that you're not doing? Are you scouting the area before you decide to settle there? Day 1-2, you should be running around with a dugout looking for a nice spot with few neighbors, or friendly neighbors. Are you settled too close to a swamp? That fucks with curio spawning, it pisses people off, so you're likely to get targeted. Are you settling right on the coast, or on a river because you think it's convenient? That drastically increases the risk of you being seen, and targeted. Did you block off a mine entrance or natural resource? Targeted. Do you greet every single player you see, with reckless abandon? There's a 1/10 chance they want to kill you. If you want a community of friendly players to keep each other safe, look for one, don't expect every stranger to be friendly with you unless you're confident that you can beat them in a fight. Don't run circles around giant walled bases thinking they're a public hangout spot for friendly new players. Take a wide berth from absolutely any player that seems like they know what they're doing better than you do
