The most true statement I've seen, the amount of mechanical abuse is pretty funny in this game and it never goes touched.

JoL stance on bots is pretty clear from the FAQ: they consider it a problem -a game problem more than a person problem, but still a problem.
They don't actively fight it most of the time because they think the effort doesn't match the results. It's literally in the FAQ.
So going after every single bot is wasted time. But if you find a guy running 20 bots at once, then it's an easy ban.

It's like littering. Actively going after everyone that does it is a waste of time. You need to reduce the need for it -like by placing more trashcans or reducing packaging. But if you see a guy dumping a truckload, you still go after him cause that's an easy win.

The "Why me and not them" argument does not put you in a better light. It just advocates for more bans, not for your unban.

Whats funny is that people underestimate how much time and effort good moderation takes.
On top of that theres a neverending stream of good ideas and bad ideas. To be able to understand which is which they would need to spend even more time just playing the game.
As a fellow family man I understand its simply not possible.
To do all the important things they would need to give away authority over the project. You can't force a small team to surrender their weekend project.

Another key reason, not to defend Whatever bay since it was god awful hermit hell, but I feel W16 is when bots went from being a small side project to a major issue being abused by all sides and no answer. I understand it 2 guys in a shed basically but even a hint of rules and punishment would go a long way

Probably because he got caught doing obscene levels of botting on an official livestream right before a new world dropped. That looks really, really bad, and if they don't punish it then it only looks worse. Plus I doubt he pays nearly as much money as Snail and his friends do so JnL have no incentive to let him off with only a few smashed hearthfires and a few random bots KO'd.
