Just roleplay that you needed some meat for your diet and he was the best selection.

So, we grouped up and set off again last night, we decided it was best to look for somewhere to settle, travelling with all those cows is just far too much trouble, lol, the travelling life is fun but we need some stability now to keep both ourselves and the cows well fed and stocked. :)

Tonight it was the calf that caused the most trouble with poor V having to jump in and out of the wagon and go searching for her.

There are very few signs of hearthling life around now that we have covered so much ground though every now and again we come across dug out holes in the terrain where people have been checking for nodes. There does, however, always seems to be so much more wildlife. :D

The time had finally come for us to settle, and lay some roots in new lands.

Journey was slow, yet again, the wandering cows which seem to hug the trees much more than my wagon driving ever did, meant that we were constantly stopping throughout the journey. Our two adult cows kept disappearing for what seemed like alone time and private conversations, only to catch up when Amanda got closer to them.

We built a temporary base, set the cows up with a new home, and began to build our basic requirements. Lady V got busy chopping down trees, while Amanda was on food duties, and I wandered looking for string for ropes and checking out the new area.

A relatively flat terrain which means little terraforming!! yey!

Palisade should be up in the coming days as we plot the area we plan to use.

Watch this space:)

Our resident photographer will add more photos of our beautiful temp base later :)

I've just spent the entire night, like 8hrs, lol, terraforming and I actually quite enjoy it. :D

First shift was with Em, we worked hard!
Em marked out and ploughed the perimeter whilst I started on the levelling which soon turned into more than just having a flat area ....
Em then gathered the basalt for the boundary and I found my first 'poo'! :D

We both found it ridiculous that two people can not level the same area together! So, why is that Jorb? It is such a time consuming job and uses so much stamina - it would make much more sense to be able to have more than one char working on it. We also have to keep stopping to go and find food before we pass out!

When Em had to leave for bed I decided to continue as I have the day free tomorrow and was quite happy digging away, then, not too long afterwards Vera arrived, just at the right time as my char was starving again, V went straight off to find food and a short while later I was full of hot steaming bat .... :D

Now, at 6am I'm off to bed! :D

Girls, don't tell me this means you have been terraforming for 8 hours without a metal shovel, tell me you haven't done that.

 ... you need two hands!

It was a choice between an increase in speed and less stamina drain vs the inven space from the Tsack which I needed to move the soil .. I think Gunner may have given us a metal shovel but I went for the space, speed is not an issue and there was also a lot of stone digging for filling ... equipping and unequipping a Tsack, esp in the middle of a field is a pain in the butt! :P

Image

Anyway, it's coming along nicely ... :) ... and the stat increases from the mountains of food are a bonus. :D

Image

What we need are a couple of Kats minions, lol, one for hunting and one for fetching stones ... :)

P.s. ... nice sig! :D
