Psychological research shows that Nurture makes up for about 75% of what a person will be when they're older.

You're gonna have to source that claim.

Edit: Seems you meant to write "Nature", if so, no source required.

I'd have to dig out my old psych books, but pretty sure that environment was a bigger influence on a person than genetics by a factor of about 3:1, but it's been a couple of decades, and progress marches on, so maybe someone has published something saying something different. My knowledge in the area extends about as far as the equivalent of a minor and years of therapy.

I wouldn't even know where to dig out a good source on the web without getting behind a paywall or digging up something that I half understand. The simpler articles on Nature vs Nurture are too simple. Everything else gets into deep statistical analysis and survey methodology.

Either way, it's a hot debate and has been for well over a hundred years. Every decade or two some new study comes out supposedly solving the issue.

Nature provides nurture. Nature always comes first, it's what you are that defines your actions and thoughts.

Well, we had one a few months ago, and to avoid starting yet another thread on US politics (and because I don't want to feed that other recent thread), I'm posting this here. If someone can think of a better thread for this post, I'll move it, but it'll probably garner too many comments.

Figured I'd share this opinion piece on why Congress should start impeachment proceedings from The Atlantic: https://a.msn.com/r/2/BBSm3nO?m=en-us&r ... InAppShare (Should be available universally.)

Is a double impeachment possible? One to clear out the Vice President as well?

Congress can impeach anyone not in the legislative branches that holds an elected or appointed office that can't otherwise be fired directly (or something along those lines). Do note that it doesn't mean the person is considered a felon or subject to felony charges, just that the person should no longer hold the office... similar to what has recently happened to PM May in the UK. (For anyone in legislative, it's up to the state/represented body to recall said person. Recall votes have been held in the past.)
