I think that was by design. At least it seems obvious to me. Anyone that has that level of skill with art doesn't do things obliviously.

Yeah the 40s-60s USA design is Awesome .... one of the things that I love the most from USA it's that, watch at the aircrafts of the WWII, or at the cars untill pretty much '70s ... I love that design so much.

You probably dont want to ban trucks.
Think of all the things that are delivered by truck every day.
Those would either have to be delivered on foot or then not delivered at all.
Maybe with wagons and horses?
Anyway, things would get expensive.

yeah of course .... here in Italy trucks are a big problem, we need to use more better ways to transport goods like trains ... of course you cannot ban all the trucks or all the cars ... but for sure our use of them it's not the most clever ever and to me should be better administrated, that what I mean. (more pubblic transport and so on)
On this regard I make always the example of the people that goes to the shop to buy a milk carton with a 3000cc jeep, that they won't ever use offroad or where it's required a car like that, it's just fashion and it's dumb, I'm minimalistic and would be better for everyone, like we always have been in the past.

But how are you going to transport the goods to the stores from the train station?
With trucks.
You can not build rail roads to every single house.

Majority of moving cargo over longer distances is already done by trains/ships/planes, trucks are used to deliver the goods locally.
